These are sweet stories meant for any youngster. The main character is a kind, helpful, friendly bunny who models all the qualities that preschoolers and early elementary school kids need reinforced. We've read the 1st four and each is very different from the others, couldn't pick a favorite, they're all really good. They're well written and illustrations are wonderful!! Looking forward to buying the next ones!

With adorable, bright, and cheerful illustrations, the story comes to life to bring readers to Mosi-oa-Tunya...The writing flows well...There was a lot of care taken in presenting a fictional story with facts and accurate illustrations about Mosi-oa-Tunya. All these elements added together make a fun story that kids will love while still learning about the world...Travels with Zozo...under the Moonbow is a great way to teach kids about places they may otherwise never hear about, and it opens the door for parents to learn alongside them. Beautiful, playful, engaging illustrations and a well-written story keep both my 3 yr old and 6 yr old not only attentive and laughing while I read but asking to read it over and over again. Heart-warming Plot and Adorable Read

This story warms my heart and really rings true for me about how much we love our pets and how much they must love us back. The pages are filled with pretty illustrations and a lovely story of a bunny helping her family, particularly the mom. I love the fact that a pet bunny is shown loving her human family so much that she goes on an adventure for them. So sweet!

Hilarious! Kids Love This!

- reviewed by verified purchaser

I've purchased every one of this author's books for my kids, and this is my son's favorite. At four years old, my son stomps his feet like Boomy the elephant and laughs at their playfulness in the story. Then he asks a million questions! The story is quick-moving and engaging, but we spend a long time on every page. The illustrations are absolutely fantastic! I should note that my daughter's favorite is still the birds in Fjord, and I personally like the beautiful barrier reef illustrations in Reef. And my son's favorite used to be Bears with the funny bears in the background. We highly recommend this book and the whole series!

Fun stories, outstanding illustrations, & funny characters. Great read along for early readers.

Perfect for a group of preschoolers

Zozo and the Deer is brilliantly written, hilariously funny and extremely engaging for toddlers. It's also such a beautiful, colorful book that makes it great for reading to one or a group of children. This book is a great way to discuss different cultures in the world. The examples of bowing and bowls of noodles as snacks are a great conversation starter for little ones. Kudos to author A.J. Atlas and illustrator Anne Zimanski!!!

Very Impressed!

I can get particular about stories if I have to read them (over and over) to my kiddos and I've been impressed with this book and actually the entire Zozo series. The writing is excellent. It's easy for my preschooler to follow, but interesting enough for his big sister (age 7) to love listening in. The minor characters are always in action page after page, this becomes much more obvious to the kids after several readings. Now they pay more attention to the deer sneaking up from behind than to Zozo. Beautiful illustrations with incredible attention to detail, nice size, and hard cover. I purchased on sale so felt a decent price.

Wonderful Bedtime Story

Bought this for my 5 yr old and it is a very sweet book with a positive message. The story flows so my 3 year old stays interested when read. The shenanigans of the deer and the beautiful artwork in this book keeps them interested reading after reading. We have collected all the books in the series over the past year and I intend on continuing that "tradition" and keeping them so the kids can pass them on to the next generation – that's how beautiful and engaging they are!

Lovely story!

The author, A.J. Atlas, writes fantastic children's books. This is the latest book I've bought in the series and once again I'm amazed. This story is about a little bunny rabbit, Zozo, who travels with her human family but also ventures out on her own with newly-made friends in Japan.

The illustrations are colorful, energetic and extremely engaging. This book is sweet, fun and adorably written with details that will make you smile with every turn of the page. My kids really enjoyed this book and were curious, entertained, and giggling like crazy at the funny deer. I highly recommend this book!

Zozo is so incredibly lovable! Poor little guy got lost and our hearts went out to him. The story lead to great conversations with my kids about getting lost and what to do. Hardcover book is quality made, heavy weight paper, excellent color illustrations on every page. It will last thru a couple kids which is important to me. Wish the pages inside were shiny but the cover is so it's good enough. Would definitely recommend.

Quick moving plot, but plan extra time

This is an 8-minute read but it has so much to offer that it takes us longer because we love all the fun we're having. We count to 10 a second time, look for animals, laugh at the silly bears, talk about the real things we're seeing like floatplanes, woodpeckers eating bugs, and critters galore. There's so much here!! Good for my 3 yr old who can listen to a long story so long as there are tons of interesting pictures. Also good for my second grader who likes to alternate reading pages with me. He reads the ones with less words and I read the pages with more! Great fun for everyone! Highly recommend!!

Must have classic book for children

I believe that children should build a personal library of treasured books that follow them into adulthood and provide clues into the literature that formed their early lives. These keepsake books store some of their childhood memories, creativity, hopes and dreams.

I think that Travels with Zozo...and the Bears is one of those books. It is absolutely beautifully illustrated! Exquisite detail. Bright colors. Realistic, artful and yet childishly silly. Artistically, there's a lot to engage a child's attention.

But that's not even the best part! The story allows readers to count along with Zozo as she plays hide-and-seek with her new friend with a Where's Waldo? type search for the bear. READ MORE

Quality storytelling, Interesting setting, Funny characters

With a bedtime story I look for appealing characters, a nice message, and a brisk but friendly narrative with a touch of humor. That's what you get here.

Pet rabbit Zozo and her family travel to Norway. After some family time, Zozo slips away to have her own adventure with a family of eagles. She sees more of the country and makes friends.

Zozo is full of emotion and energy. She's kind, curious and willing to learn. The baby eagles she meets, though, steal the show! They have super funny TV cartoon like faces when jumping from their nest for the first time. The storytelling is direct and to the point with enough colorful language to give a sense of wonder to the scenic landscapes. Generally it has an upbeat and positive feel and it has a fair amount of action. The nice, calm end to the story includes a good message about family being important that serves to tie the whole story together. All in all, the book feels just right for bedtime to me.

The third installment of A.J. Atlas’ Travels with Zozo… series takes readers to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Travels with Zozo…on the Reef follows the "hoppity, floppity, huggable, snuggable" bunny Zozo as she travels to Heron Island and the Great Barrier Reef with her family. While on her adventure, she witnesses an exciting race under the sea where the competitors are whales, sharks, sailfish, and other larger, ocean-dwelling creatures. The story leaves readers with a sense of awe about the ocean and its inhabitants and is sure to please all ocean-loving readers.

Zozo mentions in this tale that she would need the "entire crayon box full of colors" to draw the sights she sees, and that is just what has been done in Travels with Zozo…on the Reef. Illustrator Anne Zimanski has filled the book's pages with color and wonder, truly taking advantage of all the ocean theme has to offer. Each page is filled with secrets to find, and there is a whole world to discover on the reef in Atlas' tale.

In Zozo's latest adventure, Travels with Zozo…on the Salt Flat, readers get to travel with this “hoppity, floppity, huggable, snuggable" bunny to the salt flats of Bolivia. In her travels, Zozo shows readers the importance of helping others as she helps a flamingo that has been trapped by a fallen rock. Travels with Zozo…on the Salt Flat is a cute tale filled with the cute, quirky, and kind characters that readers of Zozo's other stories have come to expect. Illustrator Anne Zimanski's take on the colorful landscapes and optical illusions that can be created on the salt flats is sure to cause a sense of wonder in younger readers. Travels with Zozo...on the Salt Flats is a fun addition to Zozo's travels and is sure to please both new and established readers of the series.

Another AMAZING Book!!!

Illustrations are gorgeous, as always! I even surprised myself liking the story/plot in this one as much as the earlier 3 books. Didn't think a salt flat was going to be that interesting, but it was. All the stories set up the location really well, especially for young people who mostly have never been underwater or sea kayaking or know what a fjord is. This book in particular does a great job of a set up because I doubt many know much about a salt flat. Then the action and funny stuff comes in and keeps the story rolling along. Great story! Enjoyed it all!!

Best Purchase

I bought this solely based on the pictures being so beautiful and it being set in a place unlike anything I'd ever seen in a children's book. Then I read it to my kids, and it teaches a good lesson to trust people, offer help, take chances, and explore the world. My kids LOVE the storyline, the cute little bunny, and funny charcters. Buy it! You'll love it too!
