San Fransisco Book Review, Grace Derickson, 4.5/5 Star Count
With adorable, bright, and cheerful illustrations, the story comes to life to bring readers to Mosi-oa-Tunya...The writing flows well...There was a lot of care taken in presenting a fictional story with facts and accurate illustrations about Mosi-oa-Tunya. All these elements added together make a fun story that kids will love while still learning about the world...Travels with Zozo...under the Moonbow is a great way to teach kids about places they may otherwise never hear about, and it opens the door for parents to learn alongside them. I liked reading Travels with Zozo because the story was exciting when the family went to a new place and saw a cool think like the waterfall...The story was easy for me to understand; there were no confusing parts or words, and I could read it on my own...I would enjoy reading the other books and any future ones in the series because it kept my attention and had a fun story with Zozo and her animal friends. Loved by my 3 and 6 year olds!
Beautiful, playful, engaging illustrations and a well-written story keep both my 3 yr old and 6 yr old not only attentive and laughing while I read but asking to read it over and over again. The bunny is sweet and curious. The friends she makes are kind and funny. This is a series I want to see more of.

Heart-warming Plot and Adorable Read
This story warms my heart and really rings true for me about how much we love our pets and how much they must love us back. The pages are filled with pretty illustrations and a lovely story of a bunny helping her family, particularly the mom. I love the fact that a pet bunny is shown loving her human family so much that she goes on an adventure for them. So sweet!

Hilarious! Kids Love This!

I've purchased every one of this author's books for my kids, and this is my son's favorite. At four years old, my son stomps his feet like Boomy the elephant and laughs at their playfulness in the story. Then he asks a million questions! The story is quick-moving and engaging, but we spend a long time on every page. The illustrations are absolutely fantastic! I should note that my daughter's favorite is still the birds in Fjord, and I personally like the beautiful barrier reef illustrations in Reef. And my son's favorite used to be Bears with the funny bears in the background. We highly recommend this book and the whole series!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Fun stories, outstanding illustrations, & funny characters. Great read along for early readers.
Perfect for a group of preschoolers
Zozo and the Deer is brilliantly written, hilariously funny and extremely engaging for toddlers. It's also such a beautiful, colorful book that makes it great for reading to one or a group of children. This book is a great way to discuss different cultures in the world. The examples of bowing and bowls of noodles as snacks are a great conversation starter for little ones. Kudos to author A.J. Atlas and illustrator Anne Zimanski!!!

Very Impressed!
I can get particular about stories if I have to read them (over and over) to my kiddos and I've been impressed with this book and actually the entire Zozo series. The writing is excellent. It's easy for my preschooler to follow, but interesting enough for his big sister (age 7) to love listening in. The minor characters are always in action page after page, this becomes much more obvious to the kids after several readings. Now they pay more attention to the deer sneaking up from behind than to Zozo. Beautiful illustrations with incredible attention to detail, nice size, and hard cover. I purchased on sale so felt a decent price.

Wonderful Bedtime Story
Bought this for my 5 yr old and it is a very sweet book with a positive message. The story flows so my 3 year old stays interested when read. The shenanigans of the deer and the beautiful artwork in this book keeps them interested reading after reading. We have collected all the books in the series over the past year and I intend on continuing that "tradition" and keeping them so the kids can pass them on to the next generation – that's how beautiful and engaging they are!

Lovely story!
The author, A.J. Atlas, writes fantastic children's books. This is the latest book I've bought in the series and once again I'm amazed. This story is about a little bunny rabbit, Zozo, who travels with her human family but also ventures out on her own with newly-made friends in Japan.
The illustrations are colorful, energetic and extremely engaging. This book is sweet, fun and adorably written with details that will make you smile with every turn of the page. My kids really enjoyed this book and were curious, entertained, and giggling like crazy at the funny deer. I highly recommend this book!

Grandson's Favorite, Again!
I try to send my Grandson who is 6 a book every month and Zozo's latest book was a hit! The video of him listening and reading with his dad is always worth it. This series is really well done and I love how it introduces the next generation to the world in a respectful, awe-inspiring way.

Love Zozo!
Very sweet and funny. Suitable for 4-7 I'd say. Has a lovely explanation for children in the beginning about where the book is set, birds in the areas, and architecture of the city. Nice touch. I read this to my daughter (6) and she spent the whole time pointing out the silly birds everywhere.

I am so pleased with this purchase.
This book had wonderful illustrations, lots of emotion on the little bunny's face, and a sweet story about helping others. I had purchased the book for cousins and they absolutely adored it. Will definitely be purchasing more from the author in the future.

My preschooler and 2nd grader look forward to all the Zozo books at bedtime. They are well written, engage the kids, and are incredibly different depending on the place. A great way to open up the world to young people.
Keep your phone nearby :)
Bought for my 4 yr old son, who loves books. He liked the illustrations and the plot of the story, but it filled him with questions. So many questions!!! How are Turkish apricots made? How do dome ceilings stay up without falling down? Why do birds migrate? Thanks, Google! And thanks A.J. and Anne for making a book that's educational and super fun :)

Great conversation starter
Zozo is so incredibly lovable! Poor little guy got lost and our hearts went out to him. The story lead to great conversations with my kids about getting lost and what to do. It's a hard topic to address in a children's book, and I felt the author did a good job. We talked about being scared and the important of asking for help, especially from other mothers with children. Highly recommend!

My kindergartener LOVES
Very engaging and interactive. When reading aloud together we count numbers during the hide&seek game, make up new "make like a ____" jokes, and search for the bear. GREAT!

Professional Review
Are you and your child looking for your next literary adventure? Then look no further than A.J. Atlas’ Travels with Zozo… series, a picture book series for ages 4 to 8 in the same vein of exploration and discovery as popular series The Magic School Bus or The Magic Tree House. In this delightful series, readers get to join Zozo, “a hoppity, floppity, huggable, snuggable pet bunny,” as she goes on adventures around the world. On her trips with her family, Zozo learns about exotic locales, national landmarks, and unique cultures. There's a whole fascinating world for readers to discover as they travel along with Zozo. Atlas' series will help young readers learn to value diversity and find wonder in the world's cultures and sites.
In the first installment of this series, Travels with Zozo…and the Bear, Zozo meets a lost brown bear on Admiralty Island, Alaska. As she helps the young bear find his brothers, she learns about the lives of brown bears and takes in the beauty of the Alaskan landscapes. READ MORE

Hardcover book is quality made, heavy weight paper, excellent color illustrations on every page. It will last thru a couple kids which is important to me. Wish the pages inside were shiny but the cover is so it's good enough. Would definitely recommend.
Quick moving plot, but plan extra time
This is an 8-minute read but it has so much to offer that it takes us longer because we love all the fun we're having. We count to 10 a second time, look for animals, laugh at the silly bears, talk about the real things we're seeing like floatplanes, woodpeckers eating bugs, and critters galore. There's so much here!! Good for my 3 yr old who can listen to a long story so long as there are tons of interesting pictures. Also good for my second grader who likes to alternate reading pages with me. He reads the ones with less words and I read the pages with more! Great fun for everyone! Highly recommend!!

Must have classic book for children
I believe that children should build a personal library of treasured books that follow them into adulthood and provide clues into the literature that formed their early lives. These keepsake books store some of their childhood memories, creativity, hopes and dreams.
I think that Travels with Zozo...and the Bears is one of those books. It is absolutely beautifully illustrated! Exquisite detail. Bright colors. Realistic, artful and yet childishly silly. Artistically, there's a lot to engage a child's attention.
But that's not even the best part! The story allows readers to count along with Zozo as she plays hide-and-seek with her new friend with a Where's Waldo? type search for the bear. READ MORE

Win-Win for Kids & Adults
I read with my child and we both adored it. She loves to count along with Zozo, thinks the bear and his wordplay jokes are funny, and likes that every page is full of colorful pictures. I love dreaming of going to Alaska ... maybe someday!
